Distracted by Life

Have you ever had one of those days....That turns into a week or a month and then a few?

Well, it happened to me. I was on the start of a summer tour, on a mission to make a difference in the lives of families. I had given four workshops in a two week period and had plans to offer more. I was IN action, on fire ready to change the world.

Then something happened.....

No, it wasn't anything drastic, or life threatening!  I became distracted, distracted by life.

It started with a doubt, are people really interested in what I have to share? Then it turned into an excuse, which grew into a distraction and gave fruit to inaction.

I had made a commitment to help my mother with building her new house. The plan was that I would help her and also setup more workshops in the area and keep connected with all of you.

I watered that seed of doubt and let it grow into the excuse that I didn't have internet or cell reception.

The excuse grew into a distraction and I put my focus on the distraction allowing the distractions to grow and grow.

Allow let me clarify myself. I think focus is very important and can bring about amazing results, as it did with my mother's house.

Have you heard the saying "What you focus on expands in your life"? 

Instead of focusing on my commitments I focused on the distractions which became inaction in several other areas of my life.

Yet, the building project was only three weeks long. How does three weeks turn into three months?

Soon, the excuse became "I am going off the grid and taking a hiatus."
